Check Status Of 2.5 GHz EBSChecking the Status of Your Current Local Community EBS (2.5GHz) Spectrum License
Licensees of this spectrum are non-profits in your Community, City, or County. These non-profits include state government agencies, state universities and university systems, public community and technical colleges, private universities and colleges, public elementary and secondary school districts, private schools (including Catholic school systems in a number of large metropolitan areas), public television and radio stations, hospitals and hospital associations, and private, non-profit educational entities. If you live in a medium or large urban or suburban market chances are your spectrum has been leased by Sprint or Clearwire, or one of their subsidiaries. Find out below and ask the non-profit “why aren’t we building this broadband ourselves?” Rural markets are in the driver’s seat and should immediately research who has the rights to their 2.5GHz EBS band, notify their local Electric or Telecommunication co-op and get the ball rolling. - Click on above link or paste to browser.
- In the ‘Call Sign & Radio Services’ select the ‘Match only the following radio service(s):’ button. In the box below that, scroll down and select only the ‘ED – Educational Broadband Service’
- Page/Scroll down the to ‘Frequencies’ section. Select the button ‘Range’ and enter ‘2495’ and ‘2650’ respectively. This is the MHz range that defines the 2.5GHz spectrum.
- Click on ‘Geosearch’ in the bottom right hand corner.
- Go to the ‘State/County’ select box and select your State and County.
- Hit ‘Search’
- When you see an
or a number like L000003742 that means that spectrum (channels) has been leased. You can click through on all the other available links to learn more, view maps, etc.
